So for Halloween Laine was Super Why this year even though he heavily debated the idea of being Captain Hook... Since I'm there mother and Amy loves "Princess" I thought I woud try and cordinate their costumes by making her Princess Presto aka Princess Pea off of Super Why. So I tried to add green into her costume by sewing on green ribbon and placing green jewels in her crown and wand, but even with my amazing talents... I'm afraid with out the dark skin and hair she still looked far from her character. Amy loved trick-or-treating though and was trying to snag seconds at every door and Laine was being his usual nervous nelly at first and wouldn't go to any doors, but once he got used to it the night went awesome! Needless to say with Amy taking seconds and going to more doors then Laine when we got home her bucket seemed to be slightly more full... good thing she doesn't know about greediness yet :-)

Spicing Up Life
So I feel like I have a ton of pictures of my kids sleeping and it's usually cause Sunday's Laine get's completely worn out in nursery (they have gym time here) and then he takes himself down to the basement where we read books or turn on a church show and he just plops out :-) As for the fabric you see I've been working on adding a little color into my house so I sewed for pillow covers and made some box shelves which should be going up on the wall in the next day or two, but these are the steps. Also Amy has an obsession with going potty and loves to sit on the potty and pretend she is going. The funny part is whenever I ask her if she's done she reply's "it's coming- it's coming" and then continues to excitedly talk about pee-pee and potty and all that great stuff. She's pretty cute and basically ready for potty training for showing all the interest, but am I? hmmm....

James and Grandma Leslie Treat Us!
Grandma Leslie and James came out to visit us before Halloween and oh boy were we spoiled, and had so much fun! Laine and Amy were talking about Grandma coming for weeks and so we thought they would never come, but they sure did! They went to the zoo with us and took us to Valla's and Laine and Amy got to stay up late some nights and eat popcorn and cookies with Grandma and James and you can't beat that :-) Needless to say Amy and Laine were heartbroken when they realized that after saying goodbye to Grandma before church that she really wasn't going to be there that day or the next or even the next when they kept asking. Amy was pretty smitten with James and Laine sure loves his Grandma so we sure love when they come calling. It's so nice to have family visit!

Real Hunter's Wear Pink
My family is so cute and I just love these pictures! Laine was so excited to get to go hunting with Daddy and Amy can't get over how exciting the noise of a duck call is :-) Chad goes hunting a lot these days, but mostly in the morning long before Laine is awake so when Chad went at night and invited Laine he was certainly stoked! As you can see Laine was all for the being outside and he loves his fake shot gun Chad got him so he could shoot too, but didn't want anything to do with the dead ducks... I knew I raised him well! :-) Just as a side note we did go buy him his own camo boots after this so he wouldn't have to wear hello kitty boots around all the time, but "hey, jack" that's all we had.

Smelling the Flowers
My goodness life is just super fun right now! Laine and Amy are the best kids ever and we get to have lots of family fun. The picture with all of us at the top is from our camping trip we went on to Memphis Lake where we got to roast marshmellow's and eat some oatmeal and have to good quality family time... Also Chad got to fish while the kids and I spotted lots of frogs (mostly their eyes) in the water. As for what we do on a daily basis I'd say these pictures give a pretty good idea... Amy talks a lot and can say everything mostly repeating right now and mimicking, but will say stuff when she needs to. Laine is completely potty trained now for a little while and if he has an accident like in these pictures he has to throw away a binky (he doesn't like that) and not get to replace it. I like this method because I'm solving two problems with this solution. We like to play with a lot of other kids here at VG and these are Laine's friends Cody, Gwen and Nora.
